WHAT is permanent makeup?

Permanent cosmetic makeup is also known as Micropigmentation. Carefully applied by myself using single-use disposable micro-needles to implant Hypo-allergenic pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. Traditional tattooing goes much deeper into the skin, but in the future you may wish to alter your look so a little fading over a few years is actually better to allow for this.

Permanent Cosmetic Makeup can last up to 2 years or more but naturally there are factors such as the age of the skin, sun exposure and how the individual’s skin retains the pigment that affects the retention.

These treatments are a two appointment procedure, the second treatment is carried out 6-8 weeks from the first and is the perfecting treatment. Prices include one retouch.

This can exquisitely impact on the overall look of your eyes. This is a delicate place that some people may be worried about getting cosmetically tattooed, but I can assure you that many people have this done. It is the second most popular requested treatment!

WHY GET PERMANENT MAKEUP?

There are many reasons why people get  Permanent Cosmetic Makeup, including:

  • Hair loss / alopecia

  • Unable to physically apply makeup

  • Poor vision / visual impairment

  • Irritations and allergies to makeup

  • Type of lifestyle / job a person does

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF PERMANENT MAKEUP?

  • You wear makeup everyday

  • Your work environment melts your makeup and you’re not able to reapply it

  • You have a disability which means fine makeup application presents as a challenge

  • You wish for natural corrections to lips, eyebrows and eye liners ( who really wants wobbly eyeliner or brows that make you look sad)

  • You work in an industry where makeup is a necessity

  • You want to enhance your natural features to offer more definition and perfection

  • Natural makeup all day

  • No more smudged eyeliner that migrates down your cheek halfway through the day

  • More youthful, defined lips which can give the illusion of a fuller lip

HOW IS PERMANENT MAKEUP PERFORMED?

Permanent Makeup is performed by inserting a small thin needle and hypoallergenic pigment into the second layer of the skin to lightly contour eyebrows, lips and more.

I perform my treatments using a state of the art digital machine, this works like a traditional tattoo machine by implanting pigment as the needle goes in and out of the skin.

I do not perform Microblading, this is a buzz word at the moment and it’s a nice method of implanting pigment but for me, digital tattooing is suited to more skin types so the retention rates are higher. Microblading is not great for mature skin and oilier skin types whilst digital tattooing is more suitable.

I use pigment not tattoo ink during my procedures. This allows for fading over time so there is room for me to remove, correct and redefine any work as your face natural changes with age. I liken the fading of the pigment to a brand new t-shirt which is left outside for a year in all the elements. At first, the t-shirt will be bright but with time the colour will fade.

The design of your eyebrows, lips and eyeliner will be predawn and you will be asked to agree with this.

I will choose the pigment colours based on your preference, please be mindful that I must also take colour theory and other factors into consideration in order to achieve the best outcome.

My private room is welcoming but clinical due to the strict hygiene standards I adhere to. Safety is at the top of my list and you will find my clinic is a safe, sterile environment with around 80% of the equipment being disposable. I wear full PPE during clinic and will provide you with a disposable hair net to keep the treated area free from foreign bodies that may introduce infection.

Topical Anaesthetic can be applied but I work light, layering the pigment so the pain level is minimal. You will be made comfortable throughout but naturally, this is tattooing so there may be some discomfort on the more sensitive areas.

Once the procedure is completed you will be invited to have a good look at your new look, I will then go through all the aftercare instructions and I will provide you with an aftercare pack with aftercare balm, sweets, shower protectors and aftercare instructions. This is all included within the price.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER THE TREATMENT

You may be a little sore for the hours after but all the aftercare advice will be written down for you to refer to.

You will need to follow the aftercare strictly as incorrect aftercare or neglect to do so will most probably end in infection and loss of any pigment

You will go through the normal scabbing process but everyone’s skin is individual to them so healing can manifest in different ways and no two ways are the same.

You must wait at least 6 weeks for your perfecting top-up. This is to allow for full healing so I can assess the area and establish any modification that may need applying.

Treatments can take anything from 2 hours to 4 hours. This gives the correct time for mapping, tailored shaping, numbing and tattooing.
